This was a project that pretty much began as an experiment. I had no intention of creating anything, never mind a 70 page graphic style novel. Some might call it a comic book? I am not fussed what people call it, only that it ends up an enjoyable read! View the book here on Amazon
The truth is, I was playing around in a design software called Canva primarily creating thumbnail images for youtube. The more I used it, the more I found out how to use tools such as magic media. This is an option that generates ai images from the text you type in. The images above were done this way and I was quite impressed overall with what was being produced. I found the program a little inconsistent though especially around creating the characters and how they look. This was the most tricky part I would say. I am hoping that the tool can be improved so that future versions overcome this problem. There was a great deal of trial and error involved with the image generation. You could call it the biggest learning curve of the project!
The Storyline
The story was I have to say was made up as I went along. I did have a high level idea when I started but no idea where the story would lead or how it would end. The overall plot was pretty much developed along the lines of – where could the story lead us that could be believeable come the ending?
All the text in the book was humanly generated by myself. I am no writer so whether I did a good job or not is still to be decided. Anyway I finished the book but I am now revisiting the content to improve certain images that could have been better first time around.
I am not going to disclose much about what happens in the book as I want people to read it and form their own opinions. Its a mixture of good v bad, a mystery waiting to unfold and a touch of romance thrown in for good order! Here are some adhoc pages from the book to give you an idea of what to expect!
